Speaking of EVs, Tennessee is more and more on the leading edge of the electric vehicle movement. Governor Phil Bredesen today announced that the state will offer $2,500 rebates to the first 1,000 Tennesseans to purchase qualifying electric vehicles. Meanwhile, ECOtotality announced its blueprint for 425 miles of EV freeway in the Volunteer State.

“Tennessee is the first state to take the electric vehicle beyond its 100-mile radius. With these plans completed, the state of Tennessee will emerge as a leader in EV adoption, and serve as a critical blueprint for how best to connect major population areas with EV infrastructure,” said Jonathan Read, CEO of ECOtality, Inc.
