Florida has run out of funds for solar energy subsidies and solar companies across the state are laying off workers.

The 14.4 million dollar solar energy subsidy fund is in danger of not be renewed this year. It had been paying up to $20,000 for the installation of a residential system and up to $100,000 for business applications. As it stands, almost 8,000 people are waiting for their rebates, which will not materialize until the fund is replenished.

Kind of makes you wonder how many other states are going to face similar problems?
