Some of President-elect Obama’s energy plan has been unveiled:

First, a plan for $1,000 tax cut for working families to improve energy efficiency in their homes, in order to create jobs and stimulate economy.

Second, Obama asked Congress “to act without delay” in passing legislation for alternative energy production in the next three years and for building a new “smart grid” for electricity.  Additionally, Obama stated that he plans to modernize 75% of federal buildings.

Not everyone, however, is sure the plan will be beneficial:

Some question the ability to boost spending on higher-cost renewable fuels during recession and while the oil prices keep falling.

Others doubt the feasibility of the aggressive timeframe suggested by Obama.

And some are already benefiting, with solar equipment stocks climbing after Obama, in his plan, stated that the plan would lead to more jobs building solar panels.
